@TACOMADOTFM – The Foss Waterway Seaport, Puget Sound’s maritime heritage, education and event center, will officially welcome and host the historic schooner Adventuress. Entry to the ship will be FREE for all visitors with paid admission to the Foss Waterway Seaport.
Foss Waterway Seaport Executive Director, Wesley A. Wenhardt said, “We are delighted to welcome visitors to the schooner Adventuress and give them the opportunity to re-connect with the Tacoma waterfront, Puget Sound and the maritime history of our region, in anticipation of the 2017 Festival of Sail – Tall Ships in Tacoma, scheduled for June 15th – 18th, 2017.
Sound Experience Executive Director, Catherine Collins, says “Tacoma’s public has a special passion for tall ships and we can’t wait to invite folks aboard.”
The 133’ National Historic Landmark schooner Adventuress—now underway for her 103rd sailing season, offers Public Sails on Sunday October 3 at 3:00 pm. All ages are welcome and no sailing experience is required. During these 3-hour sails, participants are invited to raise the sails, take a turn at the helm, and learn more about emerging issues in Puget Sound.
Tickets for Public Sails are $65/Adult and $35/Youth (under 18). Sound Experience Members sail free on all Public Sails.
